Weekend

Photos are the best part of one of my favorite blogs to view/read. This past weekend I took home the camera I use at work, a Nikon DSLR. Today I edited the photos in Photoshop using some of the actions I downloaded for free on The Pioneer Woman's blog/website.

Friday night, it was just us kids (me, Colter and Molly). Kory had a function at the new PAL (Police Activity League) building he built.

So we went outside to play. Colter had a good ol' time playing on the castle slide.

And he goes down even faster going shoe-less. Weee.......!

Then, we played fetch with Molly...

"Ball."

"Ball."
"Ball." (One of Colter's favorite words.)

A boy and his best friend.

Watch out Molly! That little one will steal your water.

Mama, where's Dada?

Dada-diddle diddle-Dada?!?!

Leg hugs are the best!

There's Dada! Saturday morning breakfast - cooked some eggs, bacon and toast.

Although, Colter couldn't wait that long and scarfed down some baby cereal and dry cereal. He's getting better with utensils and seems to prefer to use his left hand.

"Hat." Yes, Colter that is where your hat goes.

The rest of Saturday included hanging out on the deck.

While Dada got the house prepped for painting.

Uhh... close-up.

Kory in his favorite room of the house. Garage. But, don't forget half of it is my car's and don't you forget that!

Molly just hung out. She is really good about staying in her yard, whether it be the fenced backyard or the front yard. Even if no one is around, she knows not to take off.

Poor Molly has a clogged tear duct. It costs a lot to fix it and it is not guaranteed that the surgery will fix it. So we have to clean the mucous out every day.

Colter likes playing on the patio in the back of the yard. He can climb up the stairs, but is a little apprehensive about coming back down. Careful!

Colter found a pine cone. And like any other object that his hands come in contact with, it went right to the mouth.

Some more Molly fetch play time. This time with Dada and his well deserved beer.

Molly's still got it. She is almost 8 years old.

When all fetching was done and Molly needed a rest, Dada helped Colter down the patio stairs.

Some more relaxing in the patio chair. Note: this was the 48th outfit of the day. Colter makes sure his clothes get fed, too.

And finally, the weekend was wrapped up with some cuddling and the finale of Lost. Kory got a phone call from Grandpa Dave to share in this momentous occassion.

Still Here!

8/16/09.... was the last time I posted anything to my little family life blog. Big-time yikes!

Since having (err... being forcefully made) to go back full-time to work, I haven't thought of my blog outside of work. So I realized inside of work would be a great time to start posting more, since I'm soooo... busy here! I should really be posting updates, especially to 'journal' about my fast-growing baby. I like this outlet for doing so, instead of writing it. And I don't get that many visitors, so I don't have to censor too much :-)

While not working, I really enjoy my time with Kory and Colter. Here are some things Colter can do at 15-months (and Daddy at 362 months).
[At his 15-month appt. he weighed 22 lbs (18%) and was 33'' (94%).]

Colter is getting really good at walking, at times he can even kick it up to a jog. I love picking him up at daycare, he sees me and runs to me. Toddler hugs are the best!

He crawls up and down the stairs, no problem. And with a little hand holding can walk up and down said stairs.

Still prefers to say dadada, instead of mamama. I know that will change and there may come a day when all I hear is "mom", "Mom", "MOM".

Loves opening and closing doors and has even said 'door'. I think it's the mechanicalist in him.
That's also why he has loved books. Its more about turing the pages than it is what is going on in them.

Colter says 'hot' a lot. I taught that to him one day while baking something in the oven, so he will learn to stay away from the oven.

I think he can say dog or Molly in some form, but haven't figured out when he is saying it - dooggie, duug, etc.

He was doing this yodeling thing for awhile. "Diddle-diddle dadda" "Dodi-Lodi". Really cute! Thus, I like to sing Snoop Dog to him - "Lodi dodi, Colter likes to podi. He don't botha nobody".

He loves picking up rocks and holding one in each hand. He does the same thing at meal time. One hand, usually the right one, must be holding part of the meal (such as a cracker) while he puts the other food in his mouth with his left hand. Cute!

There are many other great things to type down about my toddler Colter, and hopefully I will keep it up!
